Never again

Never again

sunlight
reflected from your face to mine

waking to your warmth
a freshly fallen meteorite

the silence
circled by your storm

the crackle of old leaves
round our feet

the fire splitting its bones
spitting sparks into our night

the sea
washing our shadows together

the river
threading through our day

never again darkness
between our hands

the size of a flame
