Peregrine

Peregrine

Desire to dive
woven into its wings

spearheads
sequin its chest

constriction of pupils
channeling its sight

before channeling the air
around its collapsed sails

blade of slate
plunged into snow

heart implodes
almost disappears

a second before
it explodes
