During summer

During summer

A snowflake
the last drop
from the last dream
of my soul
sinks in you
steam before it settles
upon the scolding streets
returns to sky
its barleycorn of blue

same size
as a fingerprint
your fingerprint
etched on my window
suspended
stilled
amongst the falling snow

*The barleycorn is a former English unit of length equal to 1⁄3 of an inch, somewhere between 8 and 9mm.
