Robin

Robin

Heart a grenade
pin pulled at birth
inside of your breast
peppered in shrapnel

the snowman’s conscious
all winter
spent whispering
to his disappearing heart

This poem is taken from my debut collection ‘Shoals of Starlings’ published by Waterhare Press.
