Benjamin Brake grew up in Axminster and has remained in the South West of England ever since. He graduated from Bournemouth University with a bachelor’s degree in Scriptwriting for Film and Television in 2018 and completed a master’s degree in Creative Writing at the University of Plymouth in 2023.
Benjamin draws inspiration from folklore and horror in his writing, favouring a darkly comic style to approach themes of depression, trauma, and recovery.
Despite the title of his debut collection Ugly Hedgehog, he’s actually quite fond of hedgehogs.
